According to Mayo Clinic, in vitro fertilization (IVF) typically begins with one to two weeks of ovarian stimulation — often referred to as “IVF stims.” During this stage, medications encourage the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Once retrieved, those eggs are fertilized in a lab before the resulting embryos are transferred into a uterus — in Bunnie and Jelly’s case, their surrogate’s.
For Bunnie, this medical process has been both physically and emotionally demanding.
