Like many young people growing up in France, Ducash was deeply influenced by the power and diversity of music. From American hip-hop to French rap and pop music, his teenage years were shaped by a wide range of sounds, cultures, and artistic influences. Music quickly became more than just entertainment; it became a way to express himself, explore his identity, and imagine a future beyond the limits of his everyday environment.

During his adolescence, Ducash TheKing began writing his first lyrics in English. Although he faced a significant language barrier, his passion for music pushed him to keep writing, experimenting with words, and developing his own style. English was not always easy, but he understood that music could connect people across borders, languages, and cultures. Every lyric became an opportunity to learn, improve, and get closer to the sound he wanted to create.

His early musical influences came from both sides of the Atlantic. American rap introduced him to the energy, confidence, and storytelling of hip-hop, while French rap showed him how artists could use music to describe their experiences, ambitions, struggles, and realities. Pop music also played an important role in shaping his musical ear, exposing him to memorable melodies, catchy hooks, and different approaches to songwriting.

These diverse influences helped build the foundations of his artistic identity. Rather than limiting himself to a single genre, Ducash TheKing developed an interest in exploring different sounds and finding his own place within a constantly evolving musical landscape.

As his interest in English grew, he began travelling to England to improve his language skills and become more comfortable communicating in English. These visits represented an important step in his personal and artistic development. By discovering new environments and experiencing British culture more directly, he gained a deeper understanding of the language and the musical world that surrounded it.

It was during this period that he discovered UK drill, a genre that would leave a strong impression on his musical journey.

Originating in the United Kingdom, drill offered a distinctive combination of dark atmospheres, powerful rhythms, sharp flows, and raw lyrical expression. Its production, energy, and unmistakable identity opened up new creative possibilities for Ducash TheKing. The genre introduced him to a different musical world and helped shape his developing artistic direction.
