Playboi Carti and Ye (formerly Kanye West) seem to have a very bad argument. They used to work together very closely.
The two rap stars have been linked since at least 2016, and they’ve worked together on a few hits over the years. When King Vamp’s third record, MUSIC, came out on March 14, 2025, it looked like the streak would keep going. Ye helped make the song “BACKD00R” with Jhene Aiko and Kendrick Lamar, but Ye didn’t rap on the record.
Ye also thought this might be the case because Yeezy has been making hateful and antisemitic comments all the time. Ye has been spewing hate speech since at least 2022, when he called for “death to all Jews” and wore a White Lives Matter T-shirt to a fashion show without any shame. It hurt his image as an artistic genius over time, and the anti-Semitic comments cost him a number of deals worth a total of about $2 billion.
Carti never talked about these actions in public, but Ye thought that the Whole Lotta Red rapper had been pulling away from him after MUSIC came out. It took more yelling at X, which included Iggy Azalea, who is married to Carti’s son’s mother, to get him to respond.

Ye was the main producer of the project and was on the song “Go2DaMoon.” During an interview with Kid Cudi (who was also on “M3tamorphosis”), Carti said that Ye made his idea come to life with the rage-rap classic.
